The Spirit of Family in Gascony
HDM – Les Hauts de Montrouge is a wine cooperative based in the Gers region of Southwest France, founded in 1963 and now bringing together 52 winegrowing families and 23 employees. Faithful to the cooperative spirit and the Gascon art of living, we uphold values of solidarity, transmission and collective commitment, deeply rooted in our terroir.
Located in the heart of Bas-Armagnac, a historic terroir renowned for the finesse and elegance of its eaux-de-vie, we craft our Armagnacs through every stage of production: from the vineyard and winemaking to distillation and ageing. This approach gives rise to authentic Armagnacs, produced in their purest form, with no added caramel, sugar or artificial wood flavouring.
Ageing plays a central role in our identity, notably through a rare practice: the annual aeration of our casks. This technique encourages a slow and natural evaporation of the alcohol, revealing more delicate, elegant and complex aromas.
